Title IX Investigator

Biography

Born and raised in Knoxville, TN, Emily enters her role as a Title IX Investigator at Student Conduct & Community Standards (SCCS) with excitement to be a life-long learner in the field of higher education, specifically through conduct work. Currently, Emily's primary focus is on serving as a neutral party in Title IX Investigations and complying with the processes and procedures set forth in the Policy on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating and Domestic Violence, and Stalking to conduct prompt and thorough investigations. Emily has served in various roles at SCCS since 2018. Emily assists in managing the SCCS website, supervising Graduate Assistants, Student Conduct Board members and University advisors, and building educational sanctions. Additionally, Emily serves as a FYS 101 course instructor.

Emily earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies from The University of Tennessee in 2021, and, most recently, she completed her graduate degree with a Master's of Science in Social Work from The University of Tennessee in 2023. Emily is eager to bring her educational background into the field of higher education, specifically utilizing her skills and learned theories from her Social Work education to better serve students through a restorative conduct process.
